Frequently asked questions
Short answers by topic. Legal detail lives in terms and conditions and privacy policy; rates on services.
Booking and payment
How do I start a booking?
Use contact, call 020 244 18 06 or email [email protected]. Within 2 working days we send a slot proposal and written quote. Only after you accept and pay the 30% deposit is the date firm.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Bank transfer for deposit and balance; card in the studio by arrangement. IBAN and reference appear on quotes and invoices from Labsterra B.V..
How does payment work for business clients?
With a valid VAT ID, 14-day invoice terms are possible when agreed in writing upfront. The 30% deposit still secures the slot.
Do your rates include VAT?
Yes — consumer prices on the site include 21% VAT. On services you also see ex-VAT columns, e.g. €95 incl. vs €78.51 excl. for Vocal recording.
Can I change a quote before confirming?
Yes, until you confirm. Changes to hours, services or extra revisions get an updated quote. After the deposit is paid, terms and conditions apply.
In the studio
How long does it take to record a song?
For vocals on a three- to four-minute track, allow roughly two to four hours of Vocal recording. A prepared band can track multiple basics in a day — plan via band recording.
Can I bring guests?
One or two visitors in the control room are welcome. More people only by arrangement for space and safety; up to 8 people total when the project allows.
Do you provide instruments?
A basic drum kit, digital piano and a few amps are on site. Bring your own guitars, bass and personal amps. See your service page, e.g. vocal recording.
What if we want to run over?
Extensions only if the next slot is free and you agree upfront. Extra time bills at the hourly rate of the booked service.
From what age can I record?
From age 16, provided a legal guardian books, pays and gives consent. Until then an adult stays for the full session.
Files and delivery
What file format do I receive?
24-bit WAV at 48 kHz by default unless your project needs another sample rate. Mix and master deliver as WAV; podcasts can include MP3 for upload plus WAV on request.
How do downloads work?
Via a secure link to your email. Check spam filters; large band sessions may arrive in several zip parts. Ask contact for another delivery route if corporate mail blocks links.
How long do you keep sessions?
24 months after the last session on our 48 TB archive. After that we delete multitracks unless you buy a written extension. Back up your copies once downloaded.
How many revisions are included in mix and master?
Can I mix stems myself?
Yes. After band recording or vocal recording we deliver agreed tracks. Read exchanging stems for folder names and sample rate before mixing elsewhere.
Rights and privacy
Who owns the recordings?
Once the agreed service is fully paid, recordings we make for you are yours within your contract and terms and conditions. Labsterra does not claim copyright in your music.
How do bands handle splits?
Agree splits before the session. Our guide rights in band recording covers credits, masters and income without giving legal advice.
Do you use my audio to train AI?
No. We do not use client recordings to train machine-learning models and we do not create voice clones without written consent. See privacy policy.
What happens to contact details from the form?
Labsterra B.V. processes them to reply and prepare quotes. Retention and rights are in privacy policy; cookies in cookie policy.
Can I put your studio name on my release?
Only if we agree in writing. By default we do not list artist names on our site; you choose credits on your release.
