Published mixing rates
Labsterra prices mixing by deliverable. One song is €185 per track (21% VAT included). An EP up to five songs is €780 — useful when you want a coherent sound across a release.
Net rates for B2B clients with a valid VAT ID: €152.89 per track and €644.63 for the EP package. Business payment terms are 14 days after invoice, as set out in the terms and conditions.
What the fee covers
The mix includes balancing supplied stems, EQ, dynamics, panning, effect sends and a stereo mixdown ready for Mastering. We work in our 18 m² control room; you do not have to attend in person, though on-site feedback in Amsterdam is possible by appointment.
2 revision rounds based on written notes are included. Extra rounds or major arrangement changes after approval are quoted separately. Vocal tuning and editing are done only where needed and agreed upfront — not as an automatic “fix everything” package.
What moves the price
- Track count per song: a dense pop session with dozens of stems takes longer than a three-track demo.
- References: send one or two tracks plus what you do and do not want to imitate.
- Stem quality: clipping, wrong sample rate or missing files eat setup time (see exchanging stems).
- Deadline: sub-48h turnarounds are sometimes possible but not promised — plan buffer.
Podcast or voice-over mixes are outside these rates; see Podcast recording or Vocal recording instead.
From tracking to master
Many Amsterdam acts track drums and guitars live with us (Band recording in the 42 m² live room) and add synths or vocals later. Mixing starts once every stem is in and the song folder is complete.
After mix approval comes mastering: €68 per track or €235 for up to twelve album tracks. A five-song EP might budget €780 for mixing plus five times €68 for masters — order of magnitude before your own VAT check.
Sample scenarios
| Project | Mix fee | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Single | €185 | Stereo WAV delivery |
| EP (4 songs) | €780 | Fifth track within package cap |
| Album (10 songs) | 10× €185 | Or ask for a bundle via contact |
These are guide prices from our published rates; complex projects receive a custom quote.
Scheduling and deposit
We schedule mix slots after stems arrive and a short intake. Within 2 business days we confirm whether files are usable. Combined studio and mix bookings use the 30% deposit on the studio portion; the mix invoice follows at delivery unless agreed otherwise.
Free cancellation of a mix start is possible up to 5 days before the planned start if work has not begun. We retain materials for 24 months — download deliverables in time (see privacy policy).
Feedback that saves revision rounds
Batch notes per song: timestamp or bar number, what should be louder, softer or clearer. Reference tracks help; vague “make it warmer” without context often costs another round. Listen on headphones and speakers before you send one long email.
If you work in a DAW, mark which bounce is final — version chaos is the most common delay after poor file naming. Our engineers read plain-language notes; you do not need jargon, just specificity.
