Podcast recording at Labsterra in Amsterdam is built for talk: hosts and guests around a table, each on a dedicated microphone, with treatment that keeps room flutter under control. The workflow suits weekly or seasonal shows — not full music tracking like Band recording.
Book by the hour for pilots or choose the fixed €245 package: up to ninety minutes of recording, basic assembly and exports your host or platform expects. Guest privacy and retention are covered in our privacy policy and terms and conditions.

Request
Tell us via contact how many voices, the format (interview, panel, narration) and your target date. We reply within 2 business days with hourly or per-episode pricing.

Seating
Hosts keep consistent seats; guests join without cable tangles. Pop filters, gain and monitoring are set per voice before you record the intro.

Record
We capture continuously or by segment with markers. The engineer watches overlap, quiet speakers and intruding noise — and pauses when something needs fixing.
- 04
Edit and export
On the episode package we trim long silences, obvious flubs and repeated lines; you receive stereo or split mono WAV plus an MP3 for review. Deeper polish is quoted separately.
Shows that fit this room
Interview podcasts with one or two regular hosts and rotating guests, news and culture conversations, internal company shows for teams up to four at the table, and educational series where you want the same acoustic fingerprint every week. Solo hosts with remote guests sometimes pair with a short Vocal recording booth pass for narration inserts.
Not the right room for full band performances or loud live audiences — use Band recording instead. Minimum age in the studio is 16.
Table layout and acoustics
Two to four seats with dynamic or broadcast condenser mics depending on voice and habit. The table sits in a treated zone so speech feels close without turning brittle. Headphones are optional for hosts who want self-monitoring; guests usually get a light mix without full isolation.
The control room stays quiet during capture: no keyboard clicks on your track. If you plan video, discuss camera positions early so mics stay out of frame.

Hourly works for pilots, retakes or when you edit heavily yourself. The episode package covers record, simple assembly and upload-ready files. More than 2 edit passes or bespoke music beds are outside the fixed price.
Prep as a host
- Send a question list and rough structure (intro, segments, outro).
- Share guest names and tricky pronunciations for show notes.
- Avoid rustling clothes and loud jewellery at the mic.
- Buffer for late guests; studio time runs from the booking slot.

What basic edit covers
On the episode package we remove long silences, lines you re-recorded and obvious technical glitches. We lightly balance levels within the episode but do not deliver full sound design, theme production or aggressive removal of street noise that entered during recording.
Need mastering or platform loudness targets? That is Mastering or a separate post step. Music between segments is yours to license and supply.
Files and turnaround
Raw material leaves as 24-bit WAV per microphone; the package adds a stereo mix and often an MP3 for quick approval. Download links go to [email protected]; keep copies on your storage within our 24-month archive window.
Basic edit turnaround is usually a few business days after the session, depending on the calendar. Rush may be possible for a surcharge — ask via contact. Hours: Tuesday–Friday 10:00–20:00, Saturday 11:00–18:00. Closed Monday and Sunday..
Guests, rights and consent
Tell guests in advance they are being recorded and how audio will be used. For branded shows you handle advertising and likeness rights; we process audio as a processor under a data processing agreement when required.

Outside the package

Remote guests over Zoom in the same session are possible with quality limits; professional remote feeds sometimes need a separate tech check.
Booking and location
Confirmation needs a 30% deposit; cancel up to 5 days before the session per terms and conditions. Labsterra B.V., KvK 73172301, is at Czaar Peterstraat 213 in Amsterdam. Tram 10 stops at Czaar Peterstraat; it is about a three-minute walk to number 213. From Oostplein metro (lines 51, 53 and 54) allow roughly ten minutes on foot along Czaar Peterstraat.

How many people can talk at once?
Four seats at the table is comfortable; a fifth person is sometimes possible with a satellite mic but monitoring gets tight. Mention it in your request.
Can I take raw files only?
Yes — book €88 and say you will edit yourself. We deliver per-mic WAV and sync markers for your timeline.
What if the episode runs past ninety minutes?
Extra recording bills as studio per hour; edit beyond the package is quoted upfront. Split long live events into two bookings instead.
Do you record intro jingles?
Short spoken intros in the same session usually fit. Full music production or custom jingles sit outside Podcast recording — see Vocal recording for spoken branding.
How fast do files arrive?
Raw exports often the same day; basic edit within a few business days unless agreed otherwise. Peak season timing is confirmed via contact.
